Women’s Veterans Cricket
Veteran's Cricket for women is an emerging market growing faster than any other playing group. Veterans Cricket NSW has led the way sending two teams to the Women's National Championships in 2022. In 2023 NSW Women hosted a very successful National Championships in Wollongong including four NSW teams .
With the number of teams each State can send to Nationals fast hitting the cap, NSW is now looking to develop intrastate opportunities for the women. For example, holding Regional events, and eventually State Championships from which teams can be selected for Nationals.
Enabling veteran women to continue playing the game is providing substantial mental health benefits. Also, it has reconnected many with their past clubs where they are providing mentoring and coaching to younger cricketers.
