VCNSW OVER 70s ON TOUR IN NEW ZEALAND Feb/Mar 2023

The very smart VNCSW Over 70s at the beautiful Valley of the Peace Oval, near Lincoln, Christchurch, where boundaries are only 2 runs and maximums only 4. Surrounded by idyllic farmland and with wonderful log cabins as their Pavilion, it is a setting that overrides the local rules.

Our Veteran Cricketers Over 70s from NSW travelled to NZ to play a series of matches against some formidable talent on both Islands in February & March meeting up with their Over 60s counterparts in Christchurch at the Pavilions Hotel

Both Touring parties made use of the poor weather to train in Hagley Park’s new Indoor nets, alongside some of the Australian Over 40s who were due to play NZ Over 40s the next day on Hagley No 2 but rain spoiled that. That said the NZ team had two ex Black Cap Test players in their team!

VCNSW 70+ were to play Canterbury Vets which included some of the Over 60s star players which had recently won the National Over 60s Tournament for the umpteenth time.
